Today I attended the Notation and Interpretation exhibition at the ICA, where I was lucky enough to catch a workshop called “DIRTY ELECTRONICS: SOLDER AND SCORE” as you can see in the attached video, all manner of odd noises were escaping from an array of little boxes and interconnected slabs of circuitry and wires. I didn’t get to see this mega “patchwork” instrument during it’s early stages of construction earlier this week, but I think I was lucky to catch it today, when it was at it’s most complex interactive… After receiving a full body sonic massage, I staggered off to the ICA reading rooms where I spent quite a lot of time perusing various scores for complex/unconventional music performances… (continued in the next post)…
